Action Details
Thistle start well and impose their game with three forwards penning Windlaw in. Lunny tips over an early Clydebank effort. After 25 minutes, Windlaw take the lead. Experienced marksman Carey cunningly scoops high into the net after a penalty box melee.
Thistle try to hit back but defensively Windlaw look good and hold firm with Wilson and Kerr again outstanding. No further meaningful action until the break.
The second half was poor. Windlaw appeared unable to keep any meaningful possession and while Clydebank were enthusiastic and industrious, they never really looked like scoring. Late on, the Clydebank keeper made a stunning save from an acrobatic Carey effort and Thistle's forward blasted over from the edge of the box with arguably their best chance of the game from a poor clearance.
Verdict: A poor but dogged Windlaw performance. No fluency at all was found. This was mainly due to Thistle's work rate and organisation. They look a decent side with a decent bunch of lads. We wish them well for their promotion push. Job done for Windlaw and defence apart, not too much to write home about.
